The behaviour of materials is a natural focus for architects, which can also extend to the site. This scheme in the arctic uses the change of state of water as an architectural mechanism, proposing a deployable live/work structure that adapts its form in accordance with the extreme seasonal adjustment of site and climate. The building consists of three segments which address water (regelation), air (accretion), and ground (levitation) respectively.
